Summer Projects July 2007

 July 19, 2007 - Summer Projects
I love to knit hats, especially for babies, so I just had to try the Plymouth Encore "Colors" yarn. Some of you will remember this yarn, it was used for the Guidepost sweaters. Well, the new colors are just wonderfull. I made a hat in each color because you would never guess how the yarn knits up by looking at the skein. This yarn is 75% Acrylic & 25% Wool, which means it is machine washable and dryable. At 200 yards you can knit a hat and have yarn left over. I used a size 7 needle but you can go larger and still get a nice fabric, enough already, here are the pictures:

If hats are not your thing, then maybe a summer bag will do. This yarn from Judi & Co is actually nylon cord. It is called "Groovy" and truly it is. This is 125 yds of 100% Nylon. The colors are great and if makes a study bag. Here are a picture of Marnie's Knitted bag and Rita's Crocheted bag.

Last but not least, you have to see  the Blue Heron backpack that Marnie did. She used one skein of the Blue Heron Metallic Beaded Wool and it came out just great. The Beaded Wool has a little metallic fleck that looks beautiful in the felted wool. The color wheel shows all the lovely colors available for the Beaded Wool.

Colors from 12:00 clockwise are Poppy, Lavender Blue, Sky, Bluegrass, Lettuce, Daffodil, Sun, Hibiscus
